Frequently Asked Questions
It can be, but because of the size and design it may not work. A patio is best off being around 12 feet by 20-30 feet for an entertaining area where large groups are present. This also helps if you want to have a fire pit or BBQ grill on your slab, as well as enough room for your guests to walk around comfortably in that space. If you have a smaller patio then try using accent pieces like plants, rocks, etc to fill up most of that space without feeling cramped with only two people seated at a time during summer months outside enjoying the weather!
Pavers can be laid directly on dirt, but this will not create a strong connection between the two. This is due to the different levels of moisture that may occur in your soil or ground under the pavers and it also doesn’t protect against water erosion from natural elements such as heavy rains. It’s best if you have any type of foundation like concrete underneath them for structural support. Some people use gravel instead which is an option too because it helps to drain water off quicker than just laying down pavers over nothing at all. You’ll need about 18″ inches around each side and 12″ deep of space so there are no gaps where rainwater will pool up causing problems with molding etc.
This is a great question and there are many ways to spruce up your patio! The first way you can do it is by adding more plants. Adding flowering bushes, some flowers in planters, or even just some potted succulents will give the space something new and interesting to look at while also bringing nature into the home. Another option would be adding an outdoor rug which could really help tie everything together with color accents and patterns that match any theme they may have going on inside as well. You should also consider changing out furniture pieces like benches for chairs or tables if they need updated too since these smaller details make a huge difference in the overall feel of a room – not to mention making it easier than ever before when entertaining guests.
The best way to tell how far landscaping should be from the house is based on what kind of materials you’re using for your hardscapes. If you want lawns and bushes, these can often be placed six feet or so away due to their shorter height; if you have taller plants like trees, then the yard will need some space in order not to block sunlight that’s needed by those trees. For a more formal garden bed with most everything grown up off the ground and only low shrubs surrounding it, then as little as three or four feet may be necessary but this depends largely on personal preference–and also whether there are any other structures nearby that could get blocked out by all of these greenery!
The average cost of a 20×20 paver patio in most geographic regions falls between $35-45 per square foot. Keep in mind that the price will vary depending on what elements you want included, such as installing pavers or adding plants and trees to your project.
In this example, our contractor charges $40 for every square foot of work done. For a 100 sq ft area we would charge 40 x 100 = $4000 dollars total plus installation materials if needed which is around an additional 200 – 500$. We don’t recommend doing it yourself because with paving stones there are many measurements that need to be precise so you can avoid complications like gravel coming up through cracks or uneven joints (which happen all too often).
There are many factors that will determine this final cost. The main one is the size of your property, but certain types of work and materials can also affect how much you spend on hardscape installation such as adding plants or trees to your project or installing pavers versus concrete slabs. Our contractor charges $40 for every square foot of work done which includes a basic design plan with layout drawings, permitting fees, permit tag deposit, surveying fee (if needed) and site preparation.
